In the Works
There are always many writing projects on the go, whether partially done on my computer or somewhere in the editing/publishing stage. Here are some of the things currently “in the works:”
House of BeJordra
Book Four – The Line Connected
“I have so many questions, Mother, and no answers. I don’t understand your world, but I don’t understand mine either.
“I want to know how you found your place. I need to find mine…I feel trapped here in this world. I want a way out. I want to leave!”
The power stones flashed with the intensity of her emotions and pain. For a single instant, a new stone appeared in the nest chamber before it winked back out, taking everyone in the chamber with it.
Tamra and Halgo-Be’s daughter, Menetra, has just turned eighteen. She’s at the age where she should know her purpose in life. Her older twin brothers know what they want. Her younger siblings each have a passion and fill their days doing what they love. But Menetra despairs of ever finding her place. Her power over the stone is immense and unique, but it often lands her in trouble.
Convincing her best friend, Denla, to join her on a trip into the forbidden nest mountain, she opens up a door to her mother’s world. Now Menetra has no stone to rely on and companions who desperately need to return to Abbis.
Will she find her true self in her mother’s world now that the stone’s power no longer surrounds her? How will she get Denla and her dying aeroflis home before it’s too late?

A Picture of the Past
Book Six of The Adventure Diaries
Looking at the envelope, she wondered what this one would be before tearing it open. The letter, with the attached photocopied picture, had Ailith putting down her fork. She sat up and peered closely at the people in the picture, then reread the short note.
To Ailith Hubbard,
I’m sending you a photocopy of a picture I ran across while going through some donated memorabilia. Our museum is an archive that houses the histories of our local families and the families that settled our land, making it what it is today.
As you can see, the young woman in the photo bears a distinct resemblance to you, and according to the names on the back of the photo, you can clearly see the name ‘Ailith’ along with the date ‘1859.’
I can only surmise that, in some way, your family is related. I thought this might be an intriguing mystery for you to solve.
The name of the family who donated the photos is Preston. They arrived in America in 1840.
I intend to delve deeper into the included papers and the history of this family. Perhaps together, we can find a connection.
Yours truly,
James Grier
